Candidates seeking career counselling need to first undergo a psychometric test. This test basically explores the strong and weak areas of the candidate in various fields such as logical thinking, creative ability, introvert/extrovert nature, team spirit, language skills (written, verbal) and general personality characteristics. The candidate is required to answer a series of objectives based questions on the computer. A computerised software gives analysis of the test results. This report serves a great input for the career counsellor to prepare the future career roadmap for the candidate. A word of caution: Never just blindly follow the computer generated report. This report is just an input for the counselor to understand certain aspects of the candidate. The counselor has discussion with the candidate too and only after that using the report and his expertise, will he give the career road map. The counselor’s skills and experience are the most important aspects in this matter.
